What's Your Motivation for Change? 

There are two kinds of motivation for personal change. 

One is to get out of pain. Pain can have many sources and forms, but it is all pain, right? You have to do something about it if you can. 

The other is to reach for one’s potential. Somehow there’s a drive toward living at our highest level.  

I’ve had both. 

The usual things didn’t work for me, but I had to do something. Life was intolerable, but I couldn’t just leave. 

I learned and used a long list of personal change methods. I was exposed to high-level teachers. I learned valuable things, to be sure. But little of it worked at a deep enough level for what I needed. 

In 2010 I hit a dead end. I'd been trying to unlock the potential I knew I had inside me for decades. 

Then one day I realized it wasn't going to work. The methods I'd been making progress with were good for their range of uses, but were not up to what I needed.  

So I had to find a way that went beyond everything I’d learned

With that, I started asking fundamental questions. 

Why are fears persistent? Why is it hard to change patterns in oneself? Where do those patterns come from, anyway? 

Questions lead to answers

I had insights. Certain information came my way by circuitous routes. I put 2 and 2 together and got 1000. 

I felt like I’d walked into a new landscape of understanding how people work, including myself. This opened up the possibility of creating new methods, new tools, new models. So of course I did. This was what my life was about. 

Since then I’ve been developing, refining, using and teaching these methods. They produce remarkable, deep changes. They reach to levels I’ve never seen. 

Perhaps individual, gifted therapists can do this work for the lucky individuals who can find and afford them. I never met any of those. 

My way has been to create methods anyone can use and apply to whatever stops them from living as their authentic selves, free of pain-inducing patterns.  

One result: A form of meditation that produces results in 6 minute sessions (or 4, 5, 7, 8 ,9 or 10 minutes sessions - there’s nothing rigid about it. But 6 minutes is pretty much guaranteed to be enough to create a quite noticeable change).  

NeuroMastery® Meditation, like all my work, incorporates a neuroscience breakthrough called memory reconsolidation as a foundation. Memory reconsolidation shows the exact steps needed to rewire neural networks.

Rewiring neural networks matters because fears and feelings of all kinds, reaction patterns, limits and much more of what runs our lives are all embodied in neural networks. 

If we can change neural networks, we can change our lives. Now we can.

From the first session you can target specific feelings, triggers and other emotionally charged patterns. 

The charge becomes neutralized.

I call this "putting out fires." 

As you put out one fire after another you move from reactivity and ‘managing’ to emotional balance and equanimity. You gain a new level of confidence in yourself and your ability to live your life.

Over time the layers keep peeling back. 

There's a natural unfolding. 

I have not found the end of this process. My own realizations just get deeper, and the same is true for those I work with. 

One unique aspect of this meditation is that we will share (in small groups) what happens after each round of practice. This deepens the process in wonderful ways.
